FAQ

Questions about studying in United States

Is OPT still available?

Yes. OPT and STEM OPT continue under the new rules, which mainly change how long you are admitted for and how extensions work. Rules in the US change often, so we check the latest before you apply.

What is the new fixed admission period?

From 15 September 2026, F-1 students are admitted until a set date linked to the I-20 (up to 4 years) instead of an open-ended โ€œduration of statusโ€. If you need more time you apply for an extension.

Can I work while studying?

Yes, on campus (typically up to 20 hours a week in term). Off-campus work such as CPT needs approval.

Is a GRE or GMAT needed?

It depends on the university and course. Many no longer require it. We tell you what your shortlist needs.

Fees, funds and visa rules change often and depend on your course and profile. Please treat these figures as a guide and confirm them with our counsellors.
